Sen Amos Yohanna Bags AU Award of Excellence in Youth Empowerment




In a remarkable acknowledgment of his leadership and commitment to youth empowerment, Distinguished Senator Amos K. Yohanna, representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, is expected to receive an Award of Excellence from the African Union Youth Ambassadors.


The event is slated for July this year at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 



This was made known during a courtesy visit to his office at the National Assembly by the International President of the AU Youth Ambassadors, Amb. Dr. Abasiono Okon, and his delegation.


The delegation, which included Rt. Hon. Odudu Akpan, Chief of Staff to the President, and Engr. Daniel Edet, Media Head to the President, commended Senator Yohanna for his tireless efforts in championing youth development, inclusive governance, and grassroots empowerment, not only in Adamawa North but across Nigeria.


Speaking during the visit, Amb. Dr. Abasiono Okon praised the Senator’s impactful representation, describing him as one of Nigeria’s most outstanding legislators, particularly in driving policies and initiatives that uplift the youth and marginalized communities.


In his response, the lawmaker expressed his gratitude for the forthcoming Award of Excellence, which is scheduled to be presented at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in the coming weeks.


“I am deeply humbled to be recognized as one of the best-performing Senators in Nigeria,” Senator Yohanna stated in response. “This honour reflects our shared commitment to service, equity, and sustainable development.”

The Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has remanded the Chairman Concern Citizens Adamawa State, Alh. Husseini Bello Gambo Nakura in prison custody over multiple offences. The Michika Concerned Citizens in Adamawa State have blasted the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna for his outright disrespect to the Paramount Ruler of Michika Chiefdom, HRM.
