A 35 year-old man, Wilson Sunday, has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly raping 5 minors between 8-13 age bracket.
The alleged habitual rapist, who resides at Damilu Ward in Yola North LGA, and once convicted for rape, confessed having defiled his victims from January 2023 after regaining his freedom from prison.
This is contained in a statement by the image maker of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
SP Nguroje said that the suspect disguised himself and lured his victims into an uncompleted buildings and had unlawful carnal knowledge of them while the victims were on their way going or returning from school.
He said that the incident was reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Kofare by the parents of the victims having observed the unrepentant attitude of the suspect.
According to him, preliminary investigation so far revealed that the suspect is a father of two and now leaving alone after he separated with his wife and that he was once convicted for the similar offence.
He said that the CP, Afolabi Babatola, who expressed worry over the unfortunate act, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID to take over investigation and ensure his prosecution.
NEWS PLATFORM gathered that the ex-convict has since confessed to the crime where he said," I rape 5 girls".
Similarly, another 22 Years Raphael Peter, resident of Bulabuli, Michika LGA, was arrested by the Command's Operatives attached to Divisional Police Headquarters, Mubi North for raping an 18 years old student.
The Police Boss advised the public particularly parents to be very watchful of their kids against criminal minded elements who are roaming about seeking whom to take advantage of and report person(s) of suspicious character to the police station.
He equally called on the general public especially parents to key into the command's fight against all forms of Gender Based Violence (GBV) and promised to prosecute perpetrators in accordance with the extant laws.
