The Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, has charged the newly constituted Special and Standing Committees to work hard in order to deliver on their mandate.
Rt. Hon. Bathiya gave the charge while inaugurating the Special and House Standing Committees at the assembly committee room on Tuesday.
He tasked them to work hard in order to deliver on your mandate as Chairmen and Committee members, saying that the committees play a significant role in the process of lawmaking as bills and resolutions are referred to them for scrutiny.
He appealed them to create a synergy between their committees and relevant ministries, departments and agencies as they oversight on their activities for the progress of the state.
He told them that anytime committees are constituted, they are expected to be inaugurated by the Speaker of the House in line with the provision of the law.
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated committees, the Chairman House Committee on Information, Hon. Japhet Kefas, appreciated the Speaker for finding them worthy to serve in various committees.
Hon. Japhet Kefas, who is the member representing Gombi constituency, promised not to disappoint him and the assembly, assuring that they will work hard for the progress of the state.
