INEC ASKS TRIBUNAL TO DISMISS ARDO'S PETITION AGAINST FINTIRI, OTHERS



Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) on Tuesday, asked Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal to dismiss petition filed by the Governorship Candidate of SDP, Dr. Umar Ardo.


Likewise, Governor Ahamadu Umaru and the PDP have described Ardo's petition as vexatious, abuse of court process and lacking in merit and should be dismissed in its entirety.


The electoral body, Governor Fintiri and PDP urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition while adopting their final written addresses.


After the adoption of the final addresses by the petitioners and respondents, the tribunal reserved judgement, and said the date for the judgement will be communicated to the parties. 


Adopting their addresses, Counsels to 1st to 4th respondents, through their counsels, Leader Leneke, J. K. Gajere, Chief L. D. Nzadon, and M. Abdulwasiu, prayed the tribunal to dismiss the petition.


On his part, Counsel to the petitioners, S. O. Emmanuel, urged the tribunal grant all the reliefs sought by the petitioners.
