About 13 Members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly including the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, on Sunday, joined 3 illustrious sons of Imbru in Numan Local Government Area at a thanksgiving service.
The thanksgiving service was organised by the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) Imbru to celebrate the goodness of God in the lives of the illustrious sons of the community.
The 3 sons of the community include: Hon. Barr. Kwamoti Laori, Member representing Numan, Demsa, and Lamurde constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo, former Deputy Speaker who is the incumbent member representing Numan constituency and Mr. Henry Alfred Bagume, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development.
The event, which was well attended, drew dignitaries, among whom were the Deputy Governor Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Muhammed Buba Jijiwa (Jada/Mbulo), and Majority Leader, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno (Demsa).
Others are: Hon. Haruna Jilantikiri (Madagali), Hon. Geoffrey Bulus (Leko/Koma), Hon. Kefas Calvin (Toungo), Hon. Moses Yerima Zah(Michika), Hon. Emmanuel Kefas(Song), Hon. Bulus Kantomon (Shelleng), Hon. Japhet Hammanjabu (Verre). Hon. Japhet Kefas(Gombi), Hon. Bauna Myandasa (Lamurde), Hon. Jingi Ahmed Belel(Maiha).
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Governor, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta who was represented by Lawulam Margret Nzadon, commended the church for organising the thanksgiving service.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, thanked the church for organising the event to appreciate God for what he has done in life of their colleague.
Rt. Hon. Bathiya, said that they were elected to do what is right for their electorate and for the development of their communities, and promised not to forget their constituencies in their representation.
Also speaking, the Member representing Numan, Demsa and Lamurde constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Barr. Kwamoti Laori, pledged to continue in providing good representation.
Baring his mind, the former Deputy Speaker who is the incumbent member representing Numan constituency, Rt. Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo, said,"I brought members of the assembly so that you will know that we are one".
Rt. Hon. Mackondo, stated that he cannot be able to reach out to everyone of them, but promised to do everything possible to touch their lives, and thanked his immediate community and the entire LGA for their support.
He disclosed that they are planning to embark on a thank you visit in the entire constituency during rainy season, saying that some people complaint that politicians go to them during campaigns but forget about them by the time they assume offices.
He appealed to them to support Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration in order to continue in providing people oriented representation.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief. Dr. P. P. Power, thanked all those who graced the occasion, and appreciated the church and other electorate for supporting the members.
Chief P. P. Power, lamented that many people die not because of ailments but poverty and hunger, and appealed to those on the position of authority to help their electorate.
In his sermont, Dean. Rev. Zulanege Esthon, who took his reading from Psalms 137:1-9, cautioned those in positions of authority to strive and impact positively in the lives of the people at the grasstroots.
Dean Esthon told the congregation that anyone who is elevated but forgot about his past is not blessing, and said such attitudes will attract curse and death.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman Numan LGC, Pharm. Christopher Sofore, prayed God to bless as well as keep them and urged them to continue to provide equal representation to their people.
