BILL TO INCREASE PUNISHMENT FOR "SHILA" BOYS SCALES 2ND READING



A bill floated to increase the severity of punishment for "Shila" boys has scaled through 2nd reading at the Adamawa State House of Assembly. NEWS PLATFORM 


Already, the assembly presided by its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, has committed the legislation to the committees on security and judiciary and entrepreneurship development for scrutiny.


The committees headed by Hon. Emmanuel Kefas (Song) and his counterpart of Jada/Mbulo who is also the Deputy Speaker of the assembly, Hon. Muhammad Buba Jijiwa.


The Speaker referred the bill to the committees with a mandate to scrutinise it, and submit its report in 2 weeks time.


The decision to commit the bill followed a motion for 2nd reading by the member representing Yola North constituency, Hon. Suleiman Alkali and seconded by the member representing Michika constituency, Hon. Yerima Moses Zah respectively.


The legislation, sponsored by Hon. Suleiman Alkali (Yola North) is seeking to expand a range of punishment with a view to ending the nefarious activities of the hoodlums.
