ADAMAWA JDC DISCHARGES 42, GRANTS BAIL TO 25 PRISON INMATES



The Adamawa State Jail Delivery Committee, JDC, on Friday, discharged a total of 42 inmates awaiting trial and those convicted for various offences.


The committee discharged 32 out of 182 inmates awaiting trial and 10 out of 37 already convicted inmates.


It also granted bail to 25 inmates awaiting trial and reviewed the sentences of some of the convicts serving various jail term.


The inmates were discharged while others granted bail when the committee on jail delivery headed by the Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Hapsat Abdulrahaman, visited Yolde Pate Correctional Center for prison decongestion.



Addressing the those discharged inmates shortly after the exercise, the Chairman of the committee, Justice Hapsat, advised them to be of good behaviour whenever they get back to the society.


She changed them to engage in productive ventures to earn a living and help their families and not to involve themselves in criminal activities any longer.


She told them that the court or committee will not be lenient to anyone re-arrested for any crime, urging them to justice to the committee since the committee has done justice to them
