GOMBI LGC BOSS WINS AS TRIBUNAL DISMISSES PETITION AGAINST HIM

The Adamawa State Local Government Election Petitions Tribunal on Friday, dismissed the petition instituted against the Executive Chairman Gombi LGC, Hon. Mark Ishaya.

The petition was filed by the Candidate of the ADC in the 13th July, LGCs, Mohammed Jalo, challenging the election which brought Hon. Mark to power.

In his petition, Hon. Mohammed told the tribunal that the election of Hon. Mark Ishaya, was not in compliance with the law, alleging that the exercise was marred by irregularities.

He prayed the tribunal to nullify the exercise as according to him, the election was null and void since it was not carried out in substantial compliance with the provisions of the law.

Delivering his judgement, the Chairman of the 3-member tribunal, Hon. Daniel John, said that the tribunal had considered and analysed the entire petition, grounds and evidence adduced before him.

Hon. Daniel, declared that the petition lacks merit and that the petitioners have failed woefully in convincing the tribunal that the election was not in compliance with the provisions of the law.

He therefore dismissed the petition in its entirety, saying that all the parties should bear their cost.
