COURT JAILS 2 "SHILA" BOYS 7 YEARS EACH WITHOUT OPTION OF FINE



Jimeta Area Court I sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has convicted and sentenced 2 "Shila" boys to 7 years and 6 months in prison custody each without option of fine.


The court presided by Hon. B. B. Sani, sentenced the defendants, Ismail Musa and Nuhu Emmanuel after trial on the offences of criminal conspiracy and extortion.


Hon. Sani, jailed the defendants after they had pleaded guilty to the offences of which they were arraigned before the court by the prosecuting police officer, Sgt Kabiru Abubakar.


Ismail and Nuhu snatched the mobile phone belonging to a tricycle operator known as Abubakar from Yola town, valued N150,000 only.


The convicts snatched the phone at Doubeli culvert at about 7:00pm and attempted to escape. Ismail was arrested at the scene while Nuhu escaped and was later apprehended following the arrest of the 1st convict.
