TRIBUNAL TO DELIVER JUDGEMENT IN PETITIONS AGAINST JADA, YL/NORTH LG BOSSES



The Local Government Election Petitions Tribunal in Adamawa State has reserved judgement in petitions filed against the Chairmen of Jada and Yola North LGCs. News Platform 


The petitions were instituted by the candidates of African Democratic Congress (ADC) against Hon. Salihu Muhammad So'o of Jada and his counterpart of Yola North, Hon. Jibril Ibrahim respectively.


The petitioners, Hon. Zacharia Adamu and Hon. Shehu Inuwa, of the ADC are challenging the LG election conducted on the 13th July, 2024.


In their petitions, the duo alleged that the election which saw to the emergence of Salihu and Jibril, was not in compiance with the provision of the state electoral law, 2002.


They sought for an order of the tribunal to void the whole process as well as declare that the acts of the 1st respondent, State Electoral Commission in returning the 3rd respondents as duly elected chairmen is illegal, null and void.


The petitioners urged the tribunal to direct the electoral umpire conduct fresh election for chairmanship seats of Jada and Yola North LGCs respectively.


After the counsels to the petitioners and respondents adopted their final written addresses, the tribunal presided by Hon. John Daniel, reserved judgements in the petitions.


Hon. John Daniel, said that the date of the judgement will be communicated to the parties involved in the matter.
