The Chief Magistrate Court 2 sitting in Yola, Adamawa state has convicted and sentenced no fewer than 15 "Shila" boys to 1 to 5 years imprisonment for various offences in the state.
The court sentenced the convicts after they were tried and found guilty of offences ranging from extortion, receiving of stolen property, thuggery, criminal conspiracy and causing grievious hurt.
The court presided by Magistrate A. M. Adamu, sentenced the convicts after they were charged before him by the prosecuting police officer, ASP Iliya Akawu, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.
Magistrate Adamu, sentenced Umar Abubakar and Sadam Yakubu to 5 years in prison with an option of 120, 000 option of fine for receiving stolen property and 150,000 option of fine respectively.
He also jailed Abdulrahaman Tasiu, 2 years, Abdulazeez Mohammed, 3 years, Aliyu Bala, 2 years, John Josiah, 2, Rabiu Adamu, 3 years and Anas Adamu, 2 years all without option of fine.
Others include Osama Adamu, 3 years, Haruna Musa, 3 years, Mujahid Saidu, 3 years, Abdulrahaman Usman, 2 years or N150,000, Aliyu Umar, 2 years or N150,000, Abdullahi Isa, or option of N50,000, Shettima Mohammed 2 years or N200,000 option of fine.
