20 YR OLD HOUSEWIFE JAILED FOR PUSHING HER RIVAL IN HOT WATER

A 20 year old housewife, Aisha Tukur, has been sentenced to 1 year in prison for pushing her 28 year rival, Aisha Sani in hot water.

Aisha Tukur, who lives in Ngurore, Yola South Local Government Area, has also been ordered to pay the sum of N200, 000 as cost of treatment of the co-wife.

Hon. Mathias Nuhu, of Criminal Area Court I Yola in Adamawa state convicted and sentenced Aisha, the 2nd wife after she was tried and found guilty of the offence.

She was earlier dragged before the court by the elder brother of her victim, Baba Sabo Mohammed, for alleged causing of grievous hurt which contravened section 318 of penal code law.

She was said to have pushed her rival and 1st wife in hot water where she pressed her into it until the water became cold as a result of which her victim sustained serious injuries.

The victim was said to have cooked food and gave her child and that of the convict, but while the kids were eating, the son of the convict poured sand into the soup of the 1st wife's son.

The 1st wife who was patient enough, decided to give her son another soup so as to allow peace to rein unknown to her that her action of giving her son another soup did not go down well with the 2nd wife.

It was on this note that the convict started raining insults on the 1st wife where she also engaged her in a fight and subsequently pushed her in hot water and threatened to kill her.

NEWS PLATFORM gathered that it was their neighbours who came and rescued Aisha Sani, after she was pressed for a very long time in the hot water where they took her to specialist hospital for treatment.

During treatment, the elder brother to the victim and the complainant in this matter expended over N271, 000, where he tendered receipts and other medical records which were admitted in evidence.

In the course of trial, the complainant called 2 witnesses who corroborated the guilt plea of the convict as well as tendered the receipts and medical records as exhibits.

After hearing the testimonies of the witnesses couple with exhibits, the court framed a charge which was read to the defendant and now convict where maintained her plea and pleaded with court to temper justice with mercy.

Ruling on the matter, Honourable Mathias Nuhu, convicted and sentenced her to 1 year in prison with an option of N50, 000 fine and also ordered her to pay the sum of N200, 000 as cost of treatment of the victim.

The case was transfered from Ngurore Area Court to Criminal Area Court 1 Yola, by the Chief Registrar(CR), Cristopher Dominic Mapeo.
