A 23 year old JSS 3 Student, Abubakar Sale, has been convicted and sentenced to 2 years in prison for the offence of causing public nuisance as well as in possession of hard drugs known as pentor.
Sale of Rumde ward in Yola North Local Government Area, Adamawa state was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment with N200, 000 option of fine by Hon. Mathias Nuhu of Criminal Area Court I.
He was apprehended by team of police attached to Doubeli police state on the 13th January, 2022, in possession of hard drugs known as pentor and causing public nuisance.
When charged before Hon. Mathias, by Corpral Ismail Mohammed, on Friday, Sale admitted committing the offence when the FIR was read and explained to him.
After the convict's plea, corpral Ismail tendered the hard drugs intercepted from him which were subsequently admitted in evidence.
Thereafter, the prosecutor, prayed the court to summarily try him having admitted perpetrating the crime couple with the exhibits tendered and admitted.
It his ruling, Hon. Mathias Nuhu, slammed 2 years prison term on the defendant or pay N200, 000 option of fine as well as N10, 000 cost.
While speaking in court as well as NEWS PLATFORM, the convict said that he used to inject himself 4 times in the morning, 4 times in the afternoon and 2 times in the evening making 10 times injection a day.
He disclosed that he was introduced into the business by one Adamu Aliyu, who is now serving jail term, saying that sometimes he used to get the sum of N1000 from administring the drugs on those who abuse it.
