ADAMAWA CJ SWEARS-IN 31 MAGISTRATES, CAUTIONS THEM ON CORRUPTION



Adamawa Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Nathan Musa, on Monday, sworn-in 31 newly appointed magistrates and cautioned them to shun corrupt practices while discharging their duties.


Those sworn-in include; Musa Alhaji Adamu, Aminu Abdulkadir,  Boniface Benjamin, Hasiya Yunusa Nyako, Mbursa Danjuma Gwani, Bilkisu Ahmed Tijjani, Dauyina Baba Wathi, Saleh Dalatu, Hayatu Abdulmalik, Hauwa Gambo, Aminu Sule, Ibrahim Ahmed Hamman, Jika Iya, Umar Sabo Mohammed.


Others are; Aishatu Hamidu, Abubakar Mohammed Arabo, Jacob Hellamada Hellandendu, Ibrahim Aminu Modibbo, Sani Adamu Biu, Mohammed Ali, Blessing Ishaya Dabari, Ishaka Isa, Alfred John Elias, Kucheli Yusuf, Dorcas Jesse Mavah, Ali Chivi, Jiune Sylvanus Damdoso, Adamu Mohammed Kawu, Julius D. Lerum, Frankling Pwa'anglo Jingi and Zalikhau Ibrahim Babbawa.


Speaking while performing the swearing ceremony, Hon. Justice Nathan Musa, said that the appointees were drawn from judiciary, public and private bar, saying that they have proven themselves to be hardworking, efficient, reliable and worthy of the appointment.


Justice Nathan, told them that their appointment was not without a coveat, and charged them to maintain high standard befitting their new offices, warning that anyone of them found wanting, will be shown way out.


He charged them to retain and improve on their pious conduct, shun corrupt practices, be punctual and dutiful, shun actions inimical to the tenets of their profession, adding that they must at all remember the oath office which they have sworn to uphold. 


"On our own part, we will ensure that we provide a conducive enabling environment. There are efforts to ensure your welfare is constantly appraised and improved". Justice Nathan assured.


He further assured that judiciary will strive to ensure zero tolerance for sharp practices, adding that it is not going to be business as usual, and that judiciary is ever ready to wield a big stick on anyone found wanting.


Fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the event, the Chief Registrar, Christopher Dominic Mapeo, explained that the commission had received about 200 applications out which 31 candidates successfully emerged after due process.


Dominic Mapeo, added that the essence is to ensure justice is brought to the people at the grasstroots.
