BREAKING: BILAL WITHDRAWS SUIT AGAINST TADAWUS, APC, 13 OTHERS




The impeached Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Adamawa State chapter, Alh. Ibrahim Bilal, has withrawn his suit against the new Chairman of APC, Samaila Tadawus.


Bilal, had dragged Tadawus, APC and 13 others to court, seeking 8 reliffs among which an order nullifying his removal from office, as well as an order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendants from taking any further step against him.


But at a resumed sitting on Wednesday, for hearing, Bilal through his counsels led by Ever Odo, made a u-turn and sought the leave of the court to withraw his suit against the defendants.


Ruling on the application for withrawal, Justice Musa Usman of the High Court of Justice, granted his prayers and struck out the matter.


Speaking to NEWS PLATFORM, Lead Counsel to Bilal, Ever Odo, said, "We just withdrew the suit, and being a political matter, the party itself decided to deal with it internally, and of course, our client is satisfied with it".


Odo, said that the court itself encourages settlement, and it is a good idea, expressing optimism that the parties will be able to resolve their differences amicably.


" For now, we are out of court. So, the suit as it is today, is struck out", Odo added.


Reacting on the development, the Chairman APC Adamawa State Chapter, Samaila Tadawus, said that this is the day they have been waiting for and commended him for withdrawing the suit.


Tadawus, told newsmen in his office that when Bilal was putting his resignation, he had promised to work for the unity and progress of the party, explaining that it was circumstances that made him to resign.


He stated that he has to take over the mantle of leadership because he was his deputy, pointing out that the party is united and preparing towards winning the 2023 general election.
