A business man identified as Mustapha Abdulrahaman, has been remanded in prison custody in Adamawa state for "criminal breach of trust and cheating".
Hon. Muhammad Alamin Diya Lamurde, of the Jimeta Area Court II, remanded the defendant after he had pleaded guilty to the alleged offences.
Hon. Alamin however adjourned the matter to the 13th September, 2022 for possible summary trial.
Abdulrahaman who is into chicken business, was arraigned by the Jambutu Divisional Police Headquarters, for the offences which contravened sections 302 and 312 of the penal code law.
NEWS PLATFORM gathered that the defendant supplied 51 chickens from a business woman known as Aisha Abubakar at the sum of N1, 700 each and paid the sum of N2, 400 only with a promised to pay the remaining balance at later date.
Abdulrahaman, allegedly went and sold the chickens at the sum N1, 200 and splashed out proceeds on women at Luggere in Yola.
All effort by Aisha of Jambutu ward to see that he pays the remaining balance was futile as he kept on dodging her until when she reported the matter at Jambutu police station.
The content of the First Information Report of which he pleaded guilty was read to him sequel to an application by the prosecutor, Corpral Ismail Mohammed of the Jambutu Divisional Police headquarters.
