Member representing Hong constituency at the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Bathiya Wesley, has sponsored 2 bills for consideration by the assembly.
The bills were floated to provide free education in both primary and secondary schools and create agency for sustainable development and humanitarian responses respectively.
The bills were on Wednesday, placed on notice after which will undergo neccessary processes before its passage.
The education bill reads, "A bill for a law to provide for free public primary and secondary education in Adamawa state to ensure equal opportunities for indigenes and for related matters, 2022".
Another bill is tagged, "A bill for a law to establish the Adamawa State Agency for Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Responses".
The bills were sponsored by the member representing Hong constituency, Hon. Bathiya Wesley, co-sponsored by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, as well as several other lawmakers.
NEWS PLATFORM learnt that the essence of the free education bill is to ensure that every child of school age in the state is given an opportunity to get the basic and fundamental education free.
