Adamawa state based politician, A.A.Lawan Uba, is set to file no case submission in the trial involving him and Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Lawan, through his counsels led by F. A. Ogbe, Chief Legal Officer of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria is expected to file no case submission after the prosecution had closed its case.
The defendant who has been in prison custody for 31 days, accused Fintiri of betraying him and his supporters and vowed to ensure that Fnitiri does not win election for 2rd term come 2023.
The politician has been standing trial before the Chief Magistrare Court 4 in Yola, Adamawa state over alleged defamation of character and several other offences which he had denied perpetrating it.
A. A.Lawan's application to file no case submission followed the testimonies of the prosecution witnesses and tendering of exhibits by the prosecution who eventually closed its case.
During its sitting, the court presided by Magistrate Aminu Abdulkadir Maiha, granted the application and adjourned the case to Wednesday, for filing and adoption of no case submission.
NEWS PLATFORM ecalls that the State High Court presided by Hon. Justice Musa Usman, refused to admit the defendant to bail while delivering his ruling on bail application.
