MAN WHO THREATENED TO KILL HIS MOTHER, SISTER ENDS UP IN YOLA PRISON




A middle age man, Muhammed Boderi, was on Thursday, convicted and sentenced to 2 years in prison for threatening to kill his mother and sister.


The Jimeta Area Court II, presided by Hon. Muhammad Alamin Diya Lamurde, sentenced Boderi, after he was found guilty for the offence of criminal intimidation.


Boderi of Wuro Jabbe in Yola South Local Goverment Area brandished a cutlass and threatened to kill his mother known as Jummai Muhammed and his sister.


NEWS PLATFORM learnt that Jummai who narrowly escaped being killed by her biological son, rushed and reported him to the police; hence, his arrest and prosecution.


Boderi, was said to have been intimidating his family members for a long time without provocation and admitted attempting to kill his mother and sister when docked.


He was earlier arraigned before the court by Seargent Ahmed Abubakar, for the offence contrary to section 382 of the Staste Penal Code Law, 2018.


During the convict's trial, Seargent Umar Abdullahi who held the brief of Sgt Ahmed Abubakar, urged the court to try him summarily since he pleaded guilty and still maintained his plea.


The presiding Judge of the court, Hon. Alamin Diya,  convicted and semtenced him to 2 years behind bars with 50, 000 option of fine, and also ordered him to pay N20, 000 compensation.
