ADAMAWA FLOODING: MICHIKA-MADAGALI BRIDGE CUTS OFF, DROWNS 2 PERSONS


Major bridge connecting the headquarters of Michika and Madagali Local Government Areas in Adamawa state popularly known Wuro Gayandi bridge has collapsed.

The collapse of the bridge followed a heavy downpour which caused flooding that cut off the bridge, thereby drowning 2 persons including a driver, his vehicle and one other person.

NEWS PLATFORM learnt that the incident has affected the movement of the people as no one can cross from Michika to Madagali and vice versa.

An eyewitness said that it was torrential rainfall that caused flooding which affected the bridge, lamenting that the collapse of the has left them stranded.

According to him, the flood disaster drowned 2 people and a vehicle, and that they do not know whether the those affected are alive or have died, and called for urgent action by the government to rescue their situation.
