Tears flowed freely at the residence of a 45 year old Yuguda of Luhu in Michika II ward, Michika Local Government Area, Adamawa state as food suspected to have been poisoned by an unknown person claimed 2 lives while hospitalising 2 others.
The food suspected to be poisoned by an enemy of family claimed the lives of Ijidigar Yuguda, 14 years old and Wadaimu Yuguda, 12 years old and hospitalised Ijagla Yuguda and Godwin Yuguda.
The children were alleged to have eaten the food suspected to be poisoned by yet to be identified person, thereby sending them to their early graves, leaving the family, neighbours in a state of mourning.
NEWS PLATFORM who was at the residence of Yuguda and father of 8, learnt that the unfortunate victims mysteriously died on Friday 31st July, 2020 after they were said to have eaten the food, but could not be informed about the type of food and who gave them.
While other sympathisers who trooped the compound of Yuguda wailed uncontrollably, others endlessly cursed those they claimed to have poisoned the food which sent the children to their untimely grave.
Families and friends while sympathising with the bereaved could not hold back tears just as the mother of the victims and the remaining children would not be consoled.
Narrating the ugly incident to NEWS PLATFORM, the mother of the victims, Mrs. Saraya Yuguda, said that they had a morning devotion with the entire family members in the wee hours of the fateful day, and blessed God, for making it possible to witness yet another beautiful day.
Mrs. Saraya said that they had their breakfast together with her children after which she left for neighbouring house for condolence, but unknown to her that the angel of death was knocking at the door of our house.
While at the neighbouring house, according to her, she was informed that her children had collapsed and in a very critical situation, saying she rushed back to the house and found 4 of her children in a critical condition.
She added that they rushed the children to Michika General Hospital, and that on their way 2 of her children died, and that the remaining 2 are now receiving medical attention.
She said that she could not be explained the circumstances surrounding the death of her beloved children or ascertain the motive behind the deadly action if at all it was somebody that poisoned them.
She lamented that the tragedy has shattered her life completely and that her life has list its meaning, and described the incident as the most horrific incident that has ever happened to her.
