Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has bemoaned the collapse of bridge connecting Michika and Madagali Local Government Areas in the state.
To this end, the Governor has promised to embark on the reconstruction of Wuro Gayandi bridge linking Michika and Madagali LGAs, as well as several other collapsed bridges in and around the state.
A statement by the Press Secretary to Governor Fintiri, Humwashi Wonosikou, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Monday, regretted the collapse of Wuro Gayandi bridge, and promised to fix it as soon as possible.
The Governor assured that his government will leave no stone unturned towards reconnecting communities cut off from the rest of the state as a result of torrential rainfall which washed away major bridges in the state.
He said that rural communities are the brain behind the growth of every State, and that his administration is collaborating with various agencies with a view enhancing partnership geared towards improved policy integration.
While appealing to the affected communities to exercise patience as Government is doing everything possible towards addressing their plight, he reminded them that his had already consulted with the North East Development Commission and other related agencies on how to work on the bridges.
