ADAMAWA HOMES AND SAVINGS TO BECOME REVENUE GENERATING AGENCY -MD

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Adamawa State Homes and Savings, Dr. Giscard Norris Stanley, has pledged to strive towards making the organisation a revenue based generating agency.

According to the MD/CEO, his biggest dream and commitment is to make the organisation a revenue generating agency so as to complement the effort of the Board of Internal Revenue in generating revenue for state.

Dr. Giscard who was fielding questions from newsmen (NEWS PLATFORM inclusive) in Yola, said that part of his prospects for the  organisation is to take it to level of profitability, saying as an expert in the financial institutions and experienced banker, he will strive assiduously towards achieving the set objectives.

He further disclosed that the organisation has a plan to build 500 housing units on its plot of land and intends to christen it: "Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Unaru Fintiri  Housing Estate", explaining that once they are able to sit down with the government and obtain approval, the next thing is to move to urban planning for preliminary activities.

The MD/CEO noted that as soon as the construction of housing units are completed, they are going to give them out to civil servants that have their accounts with them, saying that they are also supposed to get other mortgage business like renovation of houses and that they are allowed by law to buy land and sell.

He posited that because of their special relationship with the government, they have to talk with them and get permission to enable them go ahead with their project, stating that this is because there are somethings that they cannot do.

According yo him, there is an internal restructuring processes, renovation of offices, reviewing the personnel policies, saying that the institution was established about 15 ago, and there are lot of changes in the economy, hence the need to change some certain things.

He informed newsmen that the current Board Members are experienced administrators and bankers who have served a minimum of 20 years and above, explaining that their selection was not based on any form of sentiment but purely on merit.

He noted that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration has a housing programme in its mind and that the focus of Homes and Savings is to run the bank in such a way and manner that will align itself with the vision of the government at the end of the day. 

Dr. Norris Giscard Stanley further stated that they are empowered by their vision, and that by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri's body language that housing is a priority to him, they are ready to move along with the government.
