According to Kwandi Nunguraya, Lunguda and Waja coexisted peacefully for time immemorial, and that they will continue to coexist as it used to be, pledging to do everything possible towards ensuring peace between the 2 ethnic groups.
The Royal Father who was speaking against the backdrop of recent attacks on communities in Dumna Districts, Guyuk Local Government Area in Adamawa which claimed several lives while houses and other valuables burnt to ashes, condemned the attacks on innocent citizens.
Kwandi Nunguraya said that the primary concern of the traditional council is to ensure peace and stability between Lunguda and Waja communities hitherto living together for overall peace and progress in Lunguda land.
He described the recent attacks as unfortunate and barbaric, saying that there are some group of people that are hell bent in undermining the sanctity of peace and unity being enjoyed between the 2 ethnic groups.
He said it is a known fact that Lunguda and Waja intermarried and gave birth to children, and does not want to believe that it was the Waja people that carried out the attacks.
He added that given the kind of intermarriages, unity and love that had existed between the two ethnic groups for years made him not to believe it was Waja people that were behind the deadly attacks.
He explained that a Lunguda man is peace loving and does not foment trouble, and could not go to the extend of killing one another, adding that it appears they were some people that were fuelling the crisis in order to achieve their selfish interest.
He disclosed that as part of efforts to sustain the cordial relationship between the two ethnic groups, himself and Bala Waja, the Paramount Ruler of the Waja extraction have been doing everything possible to ensure that their subjects live in peace.
Kwandi Nunguraya stated that himself and his counterpart whom he described as an elder brother and good friend are striving hard to fish out true perpetrators of the act, urging their subjects to embrace peace without which no development would recorded.
