Operatives of the Adamawa Police Command attached to the State Intelligence Bureau in collaboration with Vigilantes of Pula'aku Association have apprehended 3 suspected cattle rustlers.
The operatives also recovered two fabricated locally made guns, two cows, among others from the suspects.
The suspects include; a 27 year old Ahmadu Usman, resident of Wuro Gombe, 20 year old Umaru Jauro Bobbo, resident of kauramai village, and 22 year old Umar Sahabo, resident of Gengle village, all in Mayo-Belwa LGA.
The command in a statement by its image maker, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM, said that the operatives arrested the suspects while on an intensive surveillance patrol along Mayo-Belwa and Fufore LGAs to ensure safety and security.
DSP Nguroje, said the suspects specialised in cattle rustling particularly from areas of Kabillo,Karlahi, Yadim and Chigari villages of Fufore LGA, saying they were arrested with 2 cows while on their way to deliver them to notorious receivers in Cameroon Republic.
He said that the CP, Mohammed Ahmed Barde, who talks tough on the Boader cattle rustling, directed SIB and Divisional Police Officers(DPOs) to checkmate such criminal activities in their Areas and apprehend them.
He added that the CP had directed that the matter be discreetly investigated and called on the general public especially those around the boarder areas to report men of suspicious character to police officers or via these GSM numbers :0808967131, 08107364974 and 08053872326.
