MAN BEATS MOTHER, FATHER FOR GIVING HIM ADVICE IN ADAMAWA



A middle age man, Markson Dauda, has appeared before Criminal Area Court II in Yola, Adamawa state for allegedly beating his mother and father for giving him piece of advice.


Markson who is currently cooling his heels in prison custody in Yola, was alleged to have ruthlessly assaulted his parents for advising him to quit smoking.


The young man was dragged before Hon. Musa Nuhu Garta, led Criminal Area Court II by the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Barde, for allegedly assauting his parents which contravened section 239, of the state penal code law.


This action followed a complaint by the mother of the young man, Mrs. Juliana Albert, at Doubeli police station on the 5th October, 2021, on how her son threated them.

Mrs Julian, of Demsawo ward in Yola North Local Government Area, told the police that her biological son used force on her and her husband by beating them as a result of which they sustained serious injuries.


NEWS PLATFORM gathered that out of love for her son, Juliana, recently secured a job for the defendant at Triacta construction company where the management of the company agreed to pay him the sum of N34, 000 monthly.


But after working for 2 weeks, the young man stormed the office of the manager and demanded for his salary or quit the job. 


When the manager advised him to wait until the end of the month, Markson, out of anger and disappointment, went out of his office and refused to show up since that day.


Earlier, when the content of the First Information Report was read to him when he was arraigned, he pleaded guilty after which the prosecutor, Corpral Ismail Mohammed.


He urged the court to adjourn the matter to enable him call a witness to corroborate his guilt plea.


The case was adjourned to the 3rd November, 2021.
