MAN COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER QUARREL WITH WIFE IN ADAMAWA



A 29 year-old man, whose identity was given as Vandu Weida, has committed suicide by drinking dangerous chemical suspected to herbicides(Gramoxone).


The incident occured at Mildu Central, in Madagali Local Government Area, Adamawa state on Tuesday last week.


Vandu and the father of 3, NEWS PLATFORM gathered, allegedly had misunderstanding with his wife on farm produce, which degenerated into fighting.


Eye witness said that during the fight, the deceased told his wife that he was fed up with her and the world and preferred to die in order to leave her with the children.


After the fight, the man who could not control his temper, went and drank substance suspected to be Gramoxone, and later found on the ground gasping for breath.


He was rushed to Mubi General Hospital where he was confirmed dead as the substance had already damaged his intestines.


When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the incident has not been reported to the command yet, and that police in the LGA are investigating the matter.
