The dream/agitation of hundreds of Adamawa Judiciary Staff for financial independence became a reality on Monday, when the 7th Assembly passed a bill for a law to provide for the management of funds.
The passage of the bill by the Honourable members of the halllowed chamber has been the agitation of the teeming staff of the judiciary for a period of time.

The state JUSUN's bill tagged," a bill for a law to provide for the Management of Funds Accruing to the State Judiciary from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the State to ensure accountability, transparency, effective and efficient utilisation of the funds" was earlier submitted to the assembly by Comrade Aminu Abdulkadir, JUSUN's Legal Adviser.
After the submission of the bill, the Legal Adviser, pleaded with the lawmakers to graciously consider and okay the legislation, explaining that the passage of the bill would make judiciary to perfom its functions effectively.
Comrade Aminu, added that granting financial independence to the judiciary will ensure smooth running of judicial system in the state, and prayed the lawmakers to consider the merits of the bill and pass it in the interest of Adamawa.
Immediately after the submission of the bill by Comrade Aminu, the speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, took it upon himself and sponsored the bill which was co-sponsored by the remaining 24 legislators
Before its passage on Monday, the bill due the kind of overwhelming support it received, succesfully passed through some stages before becoming a reality yesterday, when Hon. Abdullahi Umar Yapak(Verre) moved a motion for the suspension of House Standing Order 71 where it was suspended and granted accelerated passage.
Hon. Yapak's motion followed the presentation of a report by the committee on judiciary headed by Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo(Numan) after which it was unanimously deliberated upon and subsequently adopted.
Thereafter, the speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, directed the clerk to prepare a clean copy of the bill and send it to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for his assent.
Governor Fintiri's assent to the new bill will make it become operastional; hence, the plea by the staff on the Governor to assent on it whenever the clean copy is transmitted to him.
Cross section of the JUSUN 's staff appreciated the assembly for its commitment towards passing the bill, and commended the Legal Adviser, Comrade Aminu Abdulkadir, for working round the clock to see that the bill is passed.
