BATHIYA HOSTS GOV FINTIRI, EX-SGF, 31 LAWMAKERS AT THANKSGIVING SERVICE



Hundreds of worshippers on Sunday, joined the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, in worshipping and praising God at a special thanksgiving service he organised. NEWS PLATFORM 


The service was a solemn occasion for Rt. Hon. Bathiya, who offered prayers and thanksgiving to God, for his re-election as member as well as his emergence as the Speaker of the 8th Assembly.


The thanksgiving service which was organised by the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN), No. I Hong in conjunction with Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, was held at the church.


Likewise, the event was organised for the church to pray for the speaker for God to grant him wisdom, patience and ability to succeed as well as protect him from every plan of the enemies.


The church auditorium was filled to the brim with worshippers which was a clear demonstration of oneness, unity and peaceful coexistence not only in the LGA but the entire state.


Among the dignataries who graced the special event include: Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who was represented by his Deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, immediate past Secretary to the Government of Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha and the Chief of Staff Government House, Dr. Edgar Amos and Heads of Security Agencies.


Other distinguished personalities who graced the special service are: 2 senators, 2 Members of the House of Representatives, 27 Members from Adamawa and Taraba State Assemblies, Commissioners, Judges, LGCs Chairmen, clergies and several others.


Speaking at the event, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, appreciated the speaker and the church for organising the event, saying that it is not only for the speaker but the entire state.


Governor Fintiri who was represented by his Deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, thanked God for peaceful coexistence, saying that Adamawa State citizens are the number project of the government.


Fintiri told the congregation that his government is friendly from all aspects, opened and willing to partner with Rt. Hon. Bathiya led assembly in order to bring development down to the people at the grassroots.


In his goodwill message, the immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation(SGF), Boss Gida Mustapha, charged him to be equitable and fair to all his colleagues.


Boss Mustapha, thanked his colleagues for electing him and acknowledged the role played by Governor Fintiri which saw to his emergence as the speaker and wished him success in leading the assembly.


Also speaking, the celebrant and the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, thanked the Governor, his colleagues, clergies, his father and mother and all the dignitaries who graced the event.


Rt. Hon. Bathiya, promised to support the government to ensure its succeds and urged his teeming electorate, and the entire citizens to support as well as pray for him in order to succed.


In her remarks, the Majority Leader of the assembly and member representing Demsa constituency, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno, appreciated the church, Kilba community for the warmed reception.


Baring his mind, the Chairman Hong LGC, Hon. Inuwa Wa' ganda, urged him to carry all his colleagues along and be transparent to them, and called on him to support Governor Fintiri policies and programmes.


In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Eng. Solomon Andrew Dacree, described the speaker as humble, unassuming, well cultured and well mannered who respects everybody.


Earlier, In his welcome address, the District Pastor of Hong, advised the celebrant draw close God in all his undertakings, give respect to everybody and carry out his activities within the confines of the law.


In his sermon, the Guest Speaker who is the Bishop Arewa Diocese, Rt. Rev. Amos Elisasha Bukata hammered on the need to cultivate the heart of gratitude to God for his wonderful works in their lives.
