MAN SPENDS 120 DAYS IN PRISON FOR STEALING GRAND MOTHER'S WRAPPERS



A man identified as Hassan Ahmadu, has regained his freedom after spending not less than 120 days in prison custody for stealing grand mother's wrappers and a soap.


He was set free on Monday, after spending the days in prison  custody for the offence of theft in Maiha Local Government Area, Adamawa state. 


The middle age man was convicted and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment about 4 months ago by the Upper Area Court sitting in Maiha LGA and presided by Habu Abubakar.


The convict was freed when the Jail Delivery Committee headed by the Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Hapsat Abdulrahaman, visited Maiha correctional center on Monday.


According to the prosecution, the convict had made away with 3 wrappers and a soap belonging to his grand mother,and that the police had arrested him and recovered 2 out 3 wrappers.


Hassan voluntarily confessed having stolen the said items and pleaded with the committee to pardon him, saying that he has been reformed.
