FLYOVER: GOVT ANNOUNCES DIVERSION OF TRAFFIC AT MUBI ROUNDABOUT



Adamawa State Government has announced traffic diversion at the Mubi Roundabout to enable it embark on the construction of 3rd flyover.


It could be recalled that the Adamawa State Executive Council had granted approval for the construction of flyover at Mubi Roundabout and the super highway from welcome to Yola to A.A. Lawan and other constructions within the state capital. 


A statement by the Ministry of Works and signed by its Permanent Secretary, Engr. Mohammed Suleiman, said that the action became imperative to minimise inconvenience for motorists.


"The State Government wishes to inform the general public that the contractor has started mobilizing with a view to commence the construction works immediately after the flagging off by His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri", he disclosed.


According to him, traffic on the central arterial roads, Mohammed Mustapha way and Atiku Abubakar way will be affected especially sections near the proposed flyover.


He stated that motorists coming from grade inter-change at police roundabout and wishing to go to Doubeli or across the Jimeta bridge side are advised to divert to either Ahmadu Bello way – Sarki wuta Street- Rumde Street – bypass or section of Atiku Abubakar way – Gimba road – Nepa road – Ajiya Street – Fombina Street – Section of Atiku Abubakar way – Doubeli bypass.


It added that motorists may wish to follow Galadima Aminu way – Demsawo Street – Doubeli bypass or Galadima Aminu way – Jos Street – Benin Street – Jambutu Street - Section of Atiku Abubakar Doubeli bypass.


The statement further stated that motorists coming from old Market and River side wishing to proceed to New Market and beyond are advised to divert to either Ajiya Street – Fombina Street – Jambutu Street or Nepa Road – Gimba Road – Hospital road or Galadima Aminu way.


It advised owners of illegal properties that falls within the right of way of the Mubi Roundabout Flyover and the Super Highway from welcome to Yola to A. A. Lawan Junction to remove them within two (2) weeks.


It warned that government will not compensate any property that falls within the right of way and will be demolished any time after the expiration of the two (2) weeks ultimatum.
