Police in Adamawa State have arrested 4 suspected "Shila" boys and recovered tricycle and knives among other weapons.
The suspects include: Kabiru Yahaya, 18, of Kala'a' street, Abdulazees Mohammed, 23, of Wuro Kuturu, Adamu Babayo,18, of Bauchi street and Ibrahim Mohammed, 20 year-old resident of Nasarawo Borehole.
A statement by the PPRO of the Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that all the suspects are indigenes of Yola North Local Government Area and were arrested on the 10th September, 2023.
He explained that a combined team of Police and Members of Local Security Support Group(Vigilantes ) nabbed the suspects after robbing some residents of Demsawo and Nasarawo wards respectively.
He attributed the success to another operational strategy introduced by the Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, designed to checkmate "Shila" gangsterism.
SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje assured that the suspects will be prosecuted in accordance with extant laws.
