AGAIN, MANY FEARED DEAD AS BOAT CAPSIZES IN FUFORE LGA



A boat conveying many people on Monday, capsized in a river in Gurin, a surburb of Fufore Local Government Area, Adamawa state.


A local source told NEWS PLATFORM that the victims, mostly women and children were missing after the wooden boat capsized.


According to the source, the victims were returning from farms and naming ceremony.


When contacted, the Executive Secretary Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, ADSEMA, Dr. Mohammed Suleiman has confirmed the incident.


Dr. Suleinman said that the incident occurred this afternoon, but that the agency is making effort to rescue the victims.


Also, when contacted, the member representing Fufore/Gurin constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Umar Bobbo Ismail, confirmed the incident.

The Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has remanded the Chairman Concern Citizens Adamawa State, Alh. Husseini Bello Gambo Nakura in prison custody over multiple offences. The Michika Concerned Citizens in Adamawa State have blasted the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna for his outright disrespect to the Paramount Ruler of Michika Chiefdom, HRM.
