Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 3 youngmen for being in possession of counterfeit dollars and naira notes. NEWS PLATFORM
Those arrested include Michael Ezra,26, Danladi Andrawus, 22, and one other. The accused hail from Lamza in Guyuk Local Government Area.
It was learnt that the young men were introduced to one Samaila Sirajo, in Jada LGA by one Saje who died recently and one Handake (now at large).
Saje and Handake allegedly collected over N4million from the young men under the pretence that Samaila will print the sum of N6million fake money for them.
After defrauding the young men of their hard earned money, Handake left for Lagos State after the death of Saje.
The accused were said to have kept on mounting pressure on Samaila to refund them their money, and later agreed to refund where he asked them to meet him in Jada.
After the accused arrived in Jada in the evening, Samaila boarded a tricycle which conveyed them including Samaila to a nearby bush between 6:30pm to 7:00pm.
Shortly after all of them have alighted from the tricycle, Samaila dropped a bag containing the counterfeit currency and huge piece of papers and took to his heels.
The young men were immediately surrounded by the police who apprehended them with the bag belonging to Samaila who had escaped.
The Police Public Relations Officer,SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, said that the Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, had ordered for thorough investigation into the matter.
