Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 36 years old man, Jaafar Adamu, for raping his neighbour's wife in Hong LGA.
A statement by the image maker of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the accused was nabbed on the 15th September, 2023 for raping a 21years old neighbour's wife at Angwan Diocese Kala'a, Hong Local Government Area.
The suspect who resides at Angwan Diocese Kala'a, in Hong LGA, raped his victim in the afternoon on that fateful day when he noticed that the victim's husband had left for farm.
Jaafar, who was wearing a black facemasks, threatened his victim with a knife and forcefully had an undue carnal knowledge of her.
"Unfortunately for him upon committing the act his mask fell off and reconized by the victim as a result of which he escaped through the window", Said Nguroje.
According to him, the incident was reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters Kala'a by the victim's husband.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola who frowned at ugly incident, directed the Officer in charge of Family Support unit to take over investigation and ensure the prosecution of the accused.
"The Police Boss who sympathised with the husband to the victim over the unfortunate incident, equally called on the members of the public to key into the Command's effort in fighting all forms of Gender Based Violence". He explained.
