About 2 people have been killed while 6 others sustained various degrees of injuries in a fresh attack on Shaforon and Kodomti communities in Numan Local Government Area, Adamawa state.
Those killed in the Saturday night attack include a resident of Shaforon and a cattle rustler said to have invaded the affected communities.
An eyewitness told NEWS PLTFORM that some unknown armed men entered their community (Shaforon) in Numan Local Goverment Area and started shooting continuously.
He added that among those that were wounded include an army officer who sustained an injury in an exchange of fire with the cattle rustlers.
But the Chairman Transition Committee of the LGC, Hon. Nathaniel H. Tyakul, said on receipt of the information , he personally called Commander of the Nigerian Army where he mobilised his men and intervened.
The Chairman said the army exchanged fire with the cattle rustlers where one of the attackers feared killed, saying the cattle rustlers had already killed the resident before the intervention of the security.
Hon. Tyakul added that those that sustained injuries are being treated, and that already normalcy has been restored.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of Police Command in Adamawa state, DSP, Suleiman Yahay Nguroje, said that the attackers were cattle rustlers.
