Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Adamawa state chapter has cleared about 75 out of 99 aspirants vying for the office of the Chairman of Local Government Councils cut across the 21 LGAs in the state.
The State Screening Committee of PDP headed by Hon Kwamoti Laori, incumbent member representing Numan, Demsa and Lamurde at House of Representatives, had on Saturday, 31st August cleared 75 aspirants for the party’s tickets.
According to reports, the reasons stated by the committee for disqualifying 21 aspirants include: lack of “genuine certificates, evidence of registration, resignation from civil service, proof of payments of party dues, proof of resignation from party leadership positions”.
Three of the aspirants, for reasons known to them, chose not to appear before the screening committee and hence, disqualified for nonappearance.
