ADAMAWA CRIMINAL COURT REMANDS 27 YEAR OLD FOR BURNING FRIEND'S DOCUMENTS

Adamawa State Criminal Area Court 1 sitting in Yola, the state capital has remanded a 27 year old, Doctor David, for allegedly burning the credentials of his friend, James Hussein, of Yolde Pate, Yola South Local Government Area.

The Criminal Court presided by Honourable Umar Gangs, ordered that Doctor David, an indigene of Hong Local Government Area be remanded until Monday 9th September, 2019.

Honourable Gangs, posited that if the young man felt sick as he claimed, he would not have been able to set the certificates ablaze.

The credentials burnt down by the accused include; First Leaving School Certificates, Senior Secondary School Certificate(SSCE), and National Certificate of Education (NCE).

Although, the accused admitted to committing the offence, but the court insisted that the accused be remanded to enable the complainant and mother of James Husseini, Mrs. Shiwe Husseini, to produce 2 witnesses to corroborate the accused's admission to the offence.

Earlier, Doctor, who was dragged to the Criminal Area Court 1, by Jame's mother had told the court that he felt sick with high fever, and could not identify the certificates in a garbage he swept which he later burnt.

But fielding questions from NEWS PLATFORM shortly after adjourning the case, Doctor, said has been staying with his friend for about 2 months now, denying having any misunderstanding prior to this incident with James, as claimed by the mother.

But on her part,  the complainant said she took the legal action so that court will compel the accused to tell her his reasons of burning the documents.

She prayed the court to separate his friendship with her son, and at the same time prosecute him to serve as a lesson to him, so that henceforth he does not repeat same.
