Member representing Mubi North Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Shuaibu Musa, has procured about 10 thousand exercise books, 50 bicycles as well as sewing machines for distribution to his constituents.
According to legislator, the exercise books will be distributed to pupils in public schools with a view complementing the effort of the state government in promoting the standard of education in the state.
He said that the bicycles will be distributed to old men, while the sewing machines will be given to woman cut across his constituency as part of his deliberate effort towards empowering his people.
Hon. Shuaibu Musa, who made this known in a chat with NEWS PLATFORM said that apart from the items, he is planning to give stipends to young men and women to start small scale businesses to enable them become self reliant in the society.
He stated that rendering assistance to his people is not a new thing to him because according to him, he had been doing it even before his election to become member of the House of Assembly, saying that he has purchased the materials from his private pocket and not from constituency allowances.
He pointed out that the present members are yet to start benefiting from constituency allowances, saying that he felt it is good to continue with his kind gesture of assisting his people cut across different political parties, geographical locations and religious beliefs.
The legislator contended that whenever he gets his constituency allowances he will meet with his people and collectively discuss on what should be done with it, saying he is planning to organise a town hall meeting where he will use the avenue to educate his electorate on marketing.
Hon. Musa who was elected under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC), appreciated the unity, understanding and corporation that exist amongst the members, stating that they consider themselves as one family with a common goal not members of different political parties.
He used the forum and commended the present administration for prompt payment of salaries to its workers, explaining that even those from opposition political parties can give kudos to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, led administration in the state in this aspect.
