ADAMAWA PDP CHAIRMANSHIP SCREENING APPEAL PANEL COMMENCES SITTING



Adamawa State Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Chairmanship Screening Appeal Panel has stated receiving complaints from Aspirants disqualified from contesting the office of the Local Government Councils Chairman in the state.

Several aspirants disqualified from contesting by the State PDP Screening Committee recently are currently trooping the venue where the appeal panel is sitting to lodge their complaints.

But speaking to newsmen, the Chairman of the Appeal Panel, Barrister D. D. Azura, said that the panel is basically going to look at complaints from those that have been disqualified from contesting elections due to the screening committee's interaction with them.

Barr. D. D. Azura, said that already the Appeal Panel has received 12 complaints from those affected, saying that the committee is going to sit for the maximum of 3 days, and that it will do justice to all the affected.

He added that if the disqualified aspirant has genuine complaints as to why he has been disqualified, his committee will dispassionately look at it as an in-house and consider it, but if there is no good explanations, the committee will say no.

According to him, as far as the party is concerned, they are not going to deprive anybody from Justice, explaining that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who is the leader of the party and party itself have made it abundantly clear that the party will do justice to all its members.

Barr. D. D. Azura, pointed out that one thing they are trying to avoid is how not to make mistake in fielding candidates that other candidates from other political parties will come and successfully challenge them during the forthcoming Local Government elections.

Baring his mind, one of the contenders from Guyuk LGA, Hon.Joshua Buba, told newsmen that he has been disqualified on the allegations of none payment of party dues and being a government employee.

Hon. Joshua dismissed the allegations as untrue, saying he had paid his dues even before obtaining nomination form, saying that he is not a government employee.

On his part, Ahmed Isa Hassan, stated that he has been disqualified for lack of presentation of NYSC certificate, stating that he brought the certificate so that he will be cleared by the panel.
