ADAMAWA ALGON APPLAUDS FINTIRI'S GIANT STRIDES IN 100 DAYS


Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Adamawa chapter has applauded the giant strides of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, as he hits first 100 days in office, insisting that the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP's) government deserves accolades for changing the narratives of the state.

The Chairman of ALGON who is also the Transition Committee Chairman of Song Local Government Council, Alh Barkindo Hammanjoda, stated this while fielding questions from NEWS PLATFORM, in Yola, the Adamawa State capital over the weekend.

Alh. Hammanjoda noted that the remarkable achievements recorded in critical sectors such as security, education, health, welfare of the workers by the Governor have been impacting positively in the lives of their people at the grassroots.

He observed that the spate of kidnapping, armed banditry, clashes have been reduced drastically, and that there is relative peace at their various Local Government areas, saying that anybody can testify that there is improvement in the area of security in the state.

According to him, the government of the day has equally dealt with Shila Boys, a notorious group of young men that were terrorising most especially commuters within the state capital.

The ALGON Boss explained that the PDP administration in the state has restored the state and LG workers' dignity through regular payment of their entitlements, adding that all the LGCs are now being funded directly by the FG which is a fulfilled campaign promise by the Governor.

He pointed out that they can now pay the salaries of their workers comfortably with balance in their accounts for execution of capital projects, saying that the Transition Committee Chairmen are going to showcase their laudable achievements courtesy of the Governor.

He told NEWS PLATFORM that Governor Fintiri has always been advising them to ensure that they work for their electorates, and said they have no reason whatsoever not to work for their people.

On the issue of state - wide free education policy by the government, Alh. Barkindo, posited that the implementation of the policy will improve the standard of education not only in public schools but the state in general.

Alh. Barkindo Hammanjoda, however called on the general public to pray for the Governor and his government to enable him deliver on his mandate.
