SPEAKER ADHA, 11 OTHERS IN UGANDA FOR PARLIAMENTARY CONFERENCE



About 12 Members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly led the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, are presently at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Uganda, attending the 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference.

This year's confrence attracted no fewer than 500 Parliamentarians, Parliamentary Staff as well as other decision makers across 19 Commonwealth Member Countries who are deliberating on issues facing parliamentaries.

The theme of the Confrence: "Adoption, Engagement and Evolution of Parliaments in a  Rapidly Changing Commonwealth", is also expected to build capacity of lawmakers for effective legislation.

Addressing the Delegates, President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, called on member states to promote trade, investment and enhance security.

In her opening remarks, Speaker of the parliament of Uganda, Rebecca Kadaga, said the conference will deliberate extensively on strategies to deal with youth unemployment and how to sharpen their skills.
