YULETIDE: POLICE TO CRACK DOWN ON USE EXPLOSIVE DEVICES IN ADAMAWA

As part of commitment towards ensuring hitch free Christmas and new year celebrations, the Adamawa Police Command has banned the use of explosive devices, violent conduct or disposition under the pretext of celebrating Christmas and new year. The Command said that it is adequately prepared to to crack down on the use of fireworks, knockouts, firecrackers and other explosive devices during and after Christmas. First Information Report (FIR) on Act of Gross Indecency involving Mohammed Aliyu Case File of Act of Gross Indecency involving Mohammed Aliyu  An Upper Area Court 3 in Yola, Adamawa State has described as untrue, false and misdirection of facts, a recent media publication that a case file slated for judgment on rape case against one Mohammed Aliyu was missing from the court. In a statement made available to newsmen by the court, said at no time did the court entertain any case of rape as it is not within its its jurisdiction rather a case before it was that of indecent assault. Demsawo Area Court sitting in Yola, the Adamawa State has dissolved a one year and nine months old marriage between Fatima Usman and Ali Shuaibu with the sum of #75,000. According to the court, the money will be paid by Fatima Usman to her husband, Ali Shuaibu as Khuli, so as to free herself and to enable the husband marry another wife. The court put a knife into the marriage following the case filed before it by Fatima, seeking for dissolution of the marriage based on Khuli, and as provided by Islamic injunction. MINISTRIES OF FINANCE, COMMERCE, YOUTH STORM ADHA FOR 2020 BUDGET DEFENCE

In compliance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, the Adamawa State Ministries, Departments and Agencies have commenced defending their 2020 proposed budget estimates before the House Standing Committees of the  7th Assembly. At budget defence, heads of MDAs are expected to appear before relevant committees of the House of Assembly to defend their budget proposals, as the law has prevented the withdrawal of public funds without approval from the lawmakers. So far, some of the MDAs that have appeared and defended what Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri proposed for them include the ministries of Finance and Budget, Commerce and Entrepreneurship Development, Youth and Sports, Culture and Tourism. Mrs Diezani Alison Madukwe, former Minister of Petroleum Adamawa State High Court sitting in Yola, the state capital has today sentenced 2 Staff of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) 42 years imprisonment for corrupt related offences. The convicted staff of the electoral body include; Ibrahim Mohammed Umar and Sahabo Iya Hamman and their jail terms according to the court will run concurrently. The court further ordered the Inspector General of Police, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Interpol to arrest former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison Maduweke for her to face prosecution. Both the convicts and the former minister who is now at large were charged to court by the EFCC in connection with #362million disbursed by the ex-minister during the 2015 general elections. Samuel Yaumande, Director Litigation Min of Justice Adamawa state Unidentified gunmen have yesterday night abducted the Director Litigation Ministry of Justice in Adamawa state, Barrister Samuel Yaumande, a Principal and  3 others at Sangare, near Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) Yola. According to a family source, the gunmen invaded the residence of the Director around 9:15 pm, bearing sophisticated weapons and took him away along side his neighbour who is a Principal and 3 students. But when contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje confirmed the incident. DSP Yahaya Nguroje told NEWS PLATFORM that the command was informed that the gunmen abducted the Director and 2 others, and that the command has deployed it men to go after the kidnappers with a view to rescuing the victims.
