Member representing Demsa constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno has splashed cash, delivery kits and bags of rice to her electorate across 10 wards of her constituency.
The kind gesture according to the only female lawmaker in the House was part of her Christmas gifts and a sign of gratitude for the support she has been receiving from her teeming electorate.
During the event, about 100 people were presented with #10,000 each, aside delivery kits donated to all the 10 wards and bags of rice presented to her supporters, PDP, APC, ADC among others.
Speaking while donating the cash and other items to the beneficiaries in Demsa today, the Wife of the Executive Governor of the state, Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri congratulated the lawmaker for distributing the items to her people at this special time.
Hajiya Lami Fintiri applauded the female Legislator for her kindness and love to the inhabitants of Demsa, saying that Hon. Kate has proven to be a woman of her words and one of the vibrant legislator in the house.
The Wife of the Governor who was represented at the occasion by the Honourable Commissioner Ministry for Women Affairs, Lami Patrick commended the people for voting for her.
She urged the Honourable Member not to relent in providing her voters with dividends of democracy, saying that the member has not only done her constituents proud but the entire state.
She told the gathering that the wife of the Governor had asked her to represent her and to thank them for voting for her husband as the Governor of the State.
In her remarks, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno said that she decided to celebrate Christmas with her people; hence, the distribution of the materials as a mark of appreciation and love to her people.
Hon. Kate posited that reaching out to people is not about gender but what one can offer, and pledged to continue in reaching out to them at all times so as to feel the impact of democracy.
The female lawmaker disclosed that she had kicked off phase 1 of youth empowerment and that she is planning to continue with it because according to her the generality of her people are youth and women.
She thanked them for their support and cooperation and for bringing her to where she is today, and reiterated her commitment to providing them with people oriented representation.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman Demsa Local Government Council, Chief Elkanah Kados Fwa who was represented by his Vice, Hon. Pwasato Amos described the kind gesture as democracy in action.
The Chairman commended the effort of the legislator for her decision to celebrate Christmas with her constituents with assorted materials and however called the people to rally round her to enable her succeed.
Baring his mind, the Vice Chairman Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sylvester Bosso told the gathering that they have made a good choice by sending Hon. Kate to represent them.
He said that the member has done them proud both at the hallowed chamber when it comes to debate and at the constituency level and prayed God to continue to protect and give her more wisdom in her representation.
