Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has dismissed rumours making round that sensitive electoral materials meant for GOMBI and Hong Local Government Areas have been diverted.
According to the state electoral body, the sensitive electoral materials meant for the affected LGAs have since arrived the Divisional Police headquarters of the LGA ahead of tomorrow's election across all the 21 LGAs.
The Chairman of the Commission, Alh. Isa Shettima stated this while speaking to reporters in his office this evening, said the only thing that the Commission knows is that all the sensitive electoral materials distributed today have reached the headquarters of the 21 LGAs.
He said he has not heard of the diversion of the any sensitive materials, stressing that the materials for GOMBI and Hong like any other LG have reached the Police Divisional headquarters and that it will distributed to wards and units for conduct of the exercise.
Alh. Shettima stated that the Commission has concluded necessary arrangements for the successful conduct of the exercise, saying that the election will commence as early as 8:00am to 3:00pm tomorrow.
He explained that Adamawa has 2,609 polling units and that at every unit, they have posted a Presiding Officer, Polling Clerk and Polling Orderly with the support of the security operatives for conduct of the exercise.
While appreciating the efforts of the Nigerian Police specifically, Alh. Isa Shettima, said that over 7, 000 policemen have been deployed in and around the state for the maintenance of law and order during and after the election.
