Old Chapel of JGBC
The member representing Michika constituency and the Chief Whip of the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Joseph Ayuba Kwada has donated 600 capacity chapel to John Guli Bible College(JGBC) Michika, in Michika Local Government Area, Adamawa state.
Speaking while dedicating the chapel in Michika on Sunday, the President Church of Brethren in Nigeria (EYN), Rev Joel S. Billi said that he was full of joy because of what the member has done for the church, saying that he has done them proud with the donation of the edifice.
The President declared that the legislator has further built his confidence in them, and that it takes a din of effort and money to construct a chapel or church for the Lord, adding that the member did not build the church because he has the money but out of sacrifice.
Rev Billi added that Hon. Depolis has built and furnished the chapel by himself without the assistance of anybody from the church, and that any politician is capable of doing one or two things that will touch the lives of his people at the grassroots.
Rev Joel S. Billi told the gathering that he is not encouraging any politician to siphon public resources to execute such projects but could save to assist his communities and individuals, urging other political office holders to strive and leave a legacy worthy of emulation.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas urged on the religious leaders to assist them by praying for them and giving them constructive advice that will enable them succeed.
The Speaker congratulated his colleague for donating the chapel to his constituents and encouraged him not to relent in providing dividends of democracy to his electorate.
Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas told the gathering that what is of primary concern to them as legislators is the development of the state, explaining that they do not allow politics or ethno religious differences to divide them as their primary concern is peace and progress of the state.
Also, speaking the member representing Michika constituency at the hallowed chamber who donated the chapel, Hon. Joseph Ayuba Kwada, popularly known as the Depolis said that the construction and the donation of the church was part of his campaign promises most especially to the college.
Hon. Ayuba Kwada told the gathering that he found it necessary to construct the chapel for the college because the chapel they had been using was destroyed in the wake of attacks by the dreaded by Book Haram insurgents.
The Chief Whip added that it was their support that brought him to power and the need to meet their needs, saying that without their support and corperation he would not have been at the House of Assembly today, and further reiterated his commitment to providing them with quality representation.
In his sermon, Rev Andrawus Indawa described a chapel as a dedicated place where the children of God gather to worship the Lord in holiness, fear and reverence, saying that chapel or church is a place where solutions to problems are sought.
Rev Indawa charged the gathering to fear the Lord in everything they do, urging Christian not only to build structures but people spiritually for the kingdom of God.
