WATER RESOURCES: HOUSE C'TEE VOWS TO TRACK IMPLEMENTATION OF 2020 BUDGET


The Chairman House Standing Committee on Water Resources and Member representing Song constituency at the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Simon Isa has vowed to ensure that 2020 budget is implemented to the later.

According to Hon. Simon his committee will strive hard towards encouraging 100 percent implementation of the 2020 budget on water sector so as to ensure the availability of portable water supply for the consumption of the inhabitants of the state.

Hon. Simon who was speaking during the defence of the 2020 proposed budget estimate of the Ministry of Water Resources, its Departments and Agencies over the weekend, added that his committee will liaise with the ministry to make 2020 budget most especially on water resources a reality.

He said that water sector is next to oil in terms of internally generated revenue and as such his committee will not hesitate in encouraging the government of the day towards giving the MDAs under his committee necessary attention they deserve.

The lawmaker disclosed that by early next year, his committee will visit MDAs on oversight with with a view to ensuring their effectiveness, saying that he is aware that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has good intention on the sector.

Also sparking, the member of the committee, Hon. Joseph Ayuba Kwada(Michika) said that water is life and that the committee will facilitate the implementation of the proposed budget on the sector and solicited for support and cooperation from the MDAs.

In his response while leading principal officers of Ministry, State Water Board, Small Town Water Resources, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency(RUWASA), the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry, Hassan Kaigama pledged the readiness of the MDAs to house.
