YULETIDE: POLICE TO CRACK DOWN ON USE EXPLOSIVE DEVICES IN ADAMAWA


As part of commitment towards ensuring hitch free Christmas and new year celebrations, the Adamawa Police Command has banned the use of explosive devices, violent conduct or disposition under the pretext of celebrating Christmas and new year.

The Command said that it is adequately prepared to to crack down on the use of fireworks, knockouts, firecrackers and other explosive devices during and after Christmas.

A statement signed by the Command's Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM in Yola during the week, advised Christians faithful to submit themselves for security checks as may be required at their places of worship.

The statement further advised the general public to be cautious of their children/wards to avoid cases of rape and missing before, during and after the Yuletide.

DSP Yahaya Nguroje appealed to the citizens to conduct themselves in an orderly manner and be watchful of any suspicious movement, calling on them to immediately report to police via 08089671313 or to the nearest police station for prompt action.

He wished Christians and the general public merry Christmas in advance and a happy, peaceful, and prosperous new year.

DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje enjoined all and sundry to go about their lawful businesses without fear as the Command according to him will deal decisively with any person or group of persons who may attempt to disrupt the celebration.
