ADAMAWA NUT ELDERS FORUM ENDORSES RODNEY FOR SECOND TERM


Impressed by his outstanding performance in office, the Committee of Elders Forum of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Adamawa State chapter has endorsed the incumbent Chairman of the union in the state, Comrade Rodney Nathan for the second term in office.

The Elders Forum which comprises of the Council of former Executives of the Union that held various positions at the National, State and Local levels, however scored the Chairman very high in the terms performance.

According to the Forum, Comrade Rodney stands out as the best Chairman the Union had so far produced in the state since establishment, and threw its weight behind him so as to enable him consolidate on the achievements so far recorded.

Speaking while endorsing Comrade Rodney, the Chairman of the Elders Forum and one time state Chairman of the union, Comrade Gidado Iyagaru noted that the first tenure of Rodney Nathan accorded priority on the general welfare of teachers as well as fighting for the wellbeing the union's members.

Gidado Iyagaru applauded the Chairman for performing creditable well by ensuring that the salaries of primary school teachers, promotion and leave-grant entitlements are paid as at when due.

According to him, Rodney Nathan has established a robust relationship between the union and the government which he added that no any leadership in the past that had done it.

He emphasized that the action of the elders forum is aimed at affirming the vote of confidence passed on him by State working Committee and all the 21 Local government branches of the union in Adamawa State.

He pointed out that the unanimous decision of the Elders to affirm for the continuity of the present EXCO was informed by their track record.

Responding, the state Chairman of union, Comrade Rodney Nathan appreciated their decision to endorsing him for another second term in office.

He observed that the success recorded by the present leadership was as a result constructive advices by the members of the union, pledging to do more for the benefit of NUT members.

He used the opportunity and appealed to the Elders to always observe Safety measures and protocols of Government on COVID-19.

He announced that proper congresses will resume simultaneously after the COVID-19 as directed by the National Secretariat of NUT.
