Part of the resolutions adopted include impressing on the state government to provide adequate security most especially at the affected communities and other affected areas.
The House further directed Chairmen of the 21 Local Government Councils to complement the effort of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri by taking the issue of security with utmost seriousness through the provision of logistics support to vigilante groups and other security agencies in the state.
Likewise, the hallowed chamber directed the Chairmen of Numan, Demsa and Lamurde LGCs to liaise with their paramount rulers and other key stakeholders to proffer permanent solution to the clashes in the affected areas.
More so, the legislators mandated the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and Ministry of Health and Human Services in the state to urgently provide relief materials to the communities razed down by the herdsmen as well as be abreast in case there will be outbreak of diseases.
The resolutions of the Honourable Members followed a matter of urgent public importance brought before the House of Assembly by the Deputy Speaker and Member representing Numan constituency, Rt. Hon. Pwamwakaino Mackondo.
Hon. Mackondo had earlier brief his colleagues on the recent attack on Bolki and Bang communities in Vulpi State Development Area under Numan LGA which burnt the communities to ashes.
The Deputy Speaker informed the house that the attackers killed 2 people, domestic animals, foodstuffs and other valuables as well as houses, describing the attack as unfortunate.
According to him, the victims of the attack fled to other neighbouring villages for safety, lamenting that the perpetrators invaded the villages when the inhabitants are preparing for farming activities.
He further expressed fear that if care is not taking there will be outbreak of diseases, saying something urgent needed to be done in order to come to the aid of his electorate.
Rt. Hon. Mackondo prayed the house to impress on the state government to deploy enough security personnel to protect lives and property of his people most especially during this rainy season, calling on government to do everything possible to address security challenges confronting his constituency.
Speaking on the motion, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno(Demsa) commended the mover of the motion for bringing up the matter, explaining that her constituency used to witness such attacks but adopted new strategies which assisted them in ending such attacks, and advised that same should be adopted in Numan.
On his part, Hon. Japheth Kefas (Gombi) said that the issue of insecurity is a challenge that is facing almost all their constituencies, and called on the house to direct LGC Chairmen to provide patrol vehicles to the vigilante groups to fight insecurity.
Other legislators who spoke on the motion including Hon. Abubakar Isa(Shelleng), Hon. Hammantukur Yetissuri(Jada Mbulo) applauded the Deputy Speaker for informing the House of Assembly on the issue that affects his people.
Afrer contributions from the Lawmakers, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas who presided over the resumed plenary session, directed the Chairman Rules and Business to communicate the resolutions of the house to the relevant authorities.
